Your Share of This Year’s Harvest
A “Farm Share” is a simple idea. You can buy your “share” of a farmer’s harvest at the beginning of the growing season and it’s available each week for pickup. Many Farm Share programs are called CSAs: Community Supported Agriculture. We love the idea of you – our community – supporting our local farmers by buying your own share of the harvest.
Raleigh City Farm’s principal farmer is James Edwards. This season, he is providing a weekly basket of produce grown using organic practices in the heart of downtown Raleigh for you to enjoy. Each basket includes a mix of fresh, seasonal produce along with recipe recommendations and preparation techniques for some of the produce varieties. You’ll learn new vegetables varieties, taste greater flavors, and benefit from the vitamins and organic qualities. “My hope is the produce share gives individuals and families in Raleigh a way to live more locally, taste greater flavors, and eat healthier,” James says.
Farmers’ Collective Farmshares
Raleigh City Farm’s longtime friend and partner, Chris Rumbley, established Farmers’ Collective in 2016. “Our philosophy is simple. More farms, more food! If our farmers grow, we grow, we all eat, and vice versa. We are deeply committed to strengthening these relationships in order to succeed in supporting our area’s access to local and sustainable food,” says Chris. Farmers’ Collective is committed to providing you with the freshest, healthiest, sustainably grown produce from the Raleigh foodshed and introducing you to the member farm entrepreneurs you are helping grow. With a selection of shares ranging from mushrooms, to endless salad, eggs, premium produce, flowers, and more, there is something for everyone from Farmers’ Collective!
So, what are you waiting for? Whatever your reason for wanting to eat local and support the next generation of farmers here in Raleigh – we want to be that link. Sign up for a share today and invest in a more sustainable, healthy community.
