It doesn’t get much better than golden hour at Raleigh City Farm on a crisp fall October evening. Well, unless of course there is also live music in the air, someone filling your glass with handpicked wines from around the world, or a delicious fall cocktail or locally brewed beer. Unless you’re surrounded by other Farm friends, members of the community who’ve gathered together in this beloved spot to toast all of its accomplishments in the past year. Unless there is a beautiful banquet waiting for you just beyond the rows of produce, with an incredible seasonal four-course dinner prepared by one of the city’s finest chefs. Now does it get any better than this? It sure doesn’t.

After several years of having to get creative with take home meals, Covid conscious in person dining, and the complicated dance of offering both, Harvest Dinner went back to its roots this year. Guests strolled through lush rows of produce during cocktail hour, and bid on an array of enticing silent auction items before taking their seats for a seated dinner under the stars. The night was chilly but the company was warm. We left with hearts and bellies full.

We at Raleigh City Farm are beyond grateful to everyone who supported this annual fundraiser that netted more than $30,000 to advance our mission: to connect and nourish our community through regenerative agriculture.

Huge thanks to our incredible featured chef, Josiah Halbohm of Young Hearts Distilling, who created an exceptional meal for our guests, and our beverage partners Wine Authorities and Trophy Brewing Co. Thank you to our dynamic team of volunteers, some of the best out there. Special thanks to our host sponsors, Easter Maynard and Spoonflower, steadfast supporters of everything we do who continue to champion our cause year after year. Thank you to co-host sponsor Logan’s Garden Shop, and all of the other sponsors who generously provided the funding to make this event a reality. Maria Williford, our Farm Manager, is responsible for much of the produce featured in this meal, and we continue to be grateful for all of the hard work, passion, and skill she’s brought to our 1-acre plot. As one guest remarked, “RCF just seems to be getting better and better with every passing year.” We couldn’t agree more.

And of course, this event would not have been possible without YOU, our community of Farm friends. Thank you for your love and support of all that we do. Until next year, see you around the Farm!
