Join Us on April 21 for our 6th Annual Bearthday Celebration!
Hey. What are you doing on Saturday, April 21? Not sure, you say, but if there’s something super cool happening at Raleigh City Farm, we’ll be there! Great answer, guys! (We knew we liked you.) Actually there IS something super cool happening at RCF, and we wanted to extend a special invitation to you because you are so great. It’s the Farm’s 6th birthday AND it's Earth Day, hence "Bearthday," and we’ve got a day full of revelry planned. This will be a two-part celebration: In the morning, from 10am to 12 Noon, swing on by to check out our FREE family-friendly Bearthday Bazaar. You’ll be able to meet our farmers and get a tour of our one-acre site, then check out a few local vendors such as Hungry Harvest,Leaf & Limb and CompostNow. We’ll have nature-inspired crafts and games for the kids led by Piedmont Picnic Project. Our friends at Centro, Gallo Pelon & Videri are teaming up to make epic breakfast tacos and micheladas (for purchase) plus coffee provided by Larry's Coffee. The morning celebration will also feature a brief special breaking-ground ceremony for our new Community Pavilion designed by LS3Pwith generous support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina along with other sponsors and special guests in attendance. Lastly, stick around as we cut the Bearthday cake (well, cupcakes—delicious ones) and sing a loud, joyous, spirited “Happy Birthday” to Raleigh City Farm! But wait, there’s more! (Because music and the Farm go together like locally grown field peas and purple carrots.) Part Two of our big day will be a Bearthday Concert (ticketed) in the evening. Our headliner, Ellis Dyson & The Shambles will take the stage along with openers, Chatham Rabbits & Brothers Egg. Local beer provided by Little City Brewing Company & Pelagic, wine provided by Wine Authorities, and good food made with high quality, locally sourced ingredients prepared by Spread Catering (available for purchase). Of course we are going to say this because it is our event after all, but seriously, folks, just trust us on this one because we love you and want what’s best for you: you are going to want to be partying with us on April 21. See you then!
