Harvest Dinner 2023 Dazzled!

If you’re fungi, you use your network (well, technically called your mycelium, a mass of branched tubular threads) to spread and grow, while at the same time creating a healthier plant environment all around you. If you’re a small but mighty urban farm, your network (a mass of dedicated and all around wonderful Farm Friends) serves you in a similar way: allowing for sustained growth while benefiting the environment around you in ways big and small.

On Sunday night, YOU, our network, showed up for us yet again, allowing us to celebrate together all that we have accomplished this year at Raleigh City Farm. We sipped sparkling rosé and mingled as the farm glowed in its golden hour, then under a purple sky lit with twinkle lights we feasted on a truly memorable meal of smoked pork and a dazzling array of sides. It was a night we won’t soon forget and we couldn’t have been happier to share it with you.

We at Raleigh City Farm are beyond grateful to everyone who supported this annual fundraiser that netted more than $32,000 to advance our mission: to connect and nourish our community through regenerative agriculture.

Huge thanks to our incredible featured chefs: Andrew Ullom of Union Special and James Sampson of Corner Boys BBQ - each one a local culinary force with a big heart. Along with their dedicated teams, they created a phenomenal meal for our guests. Our beverage partners, Wine Authorities and Fullsteam Brewery, filled our glasses with carefully curated drinks that were both worldly and local.

We cannot say enough about our dynamic team of volunteers, who do all of the dirty work, and plenty of behind-the-scenes clean up work, too. They are some of the best out there. Special thanks to our host sponsors, Easter Maynard and Spoonflower, steadfast supporters of everything we do, who continue to champion our cause year after year. Thank you to co-host sponsors Logan’s Garden Shop and Smith Anderson, and all of the other sponsors and partners who generously provided the resources to make this event a reality. Maria Williford, our Farm Manager, Colleen Yeager, our Assistant Farm Manager and their team of interns are diligent stewards of the site and grow some of the healthiest produce around. We continue to be grateful for all of the hard work, passion, and skill they have brought to our 1-acre plot.

And of course, this event would not have been possible without YOU, our community of Farm Friends, the magical thread that keeps our little farm going and growing. Thank you for your love and support of all that we do. Until next year, see you around the Farm!
