Meet our Summer Intern Team

Raleigh City Farm is growing the next generation of farmers through our internship program and has graduated over 50 talented individuals since 2020. Meet this summer’s crop and learn more about past interns who have signed our “Intern Wall of Fame.” Welcome Ivy, Sydney, Allyson, Kyle and Erica! 

Ivy Azzarita

Ivy is a student at NC State and just completed her Junior year majoring in Horticultural Science with a concentration in Landscape Design and a minor in Applied Ecology. She heard about Raleigh City Farm through a horticulture career class and wanted to get more involved. She also enjoyed a past experience volunteering and knew that she could learn a lot from an internship.

Sydney Breischaft

Sydney is currently attending NC State University studying Horticulture Science with a Concentration in Small Scale Farming. She chose to her  internship at RCF because she wanted to learn more about regenerative agriculture with hands on work experience. 

Allyson Haynes

Allyson attends NC State and is studying horticulture, landscape design and urban environments. She chose this internship because she believes that it’s important to get more people involved and educated in sustainable agriculture and our food system while addressing issues such as food insecurity. She loves how RCF approaches this from a hands on aspect while bringing food to where the people are. 

Kyle May

Kyle is passionate about regenerative farming.   He joined the Raleigh City Farm team because he believes in their passion for maintaining the health of the land not only for the plants on site, but for the community as well. 

Erica Ostling

Erica is majoring in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Studies at Warren Wilson College and is super into all things farm-to-table. She choose to intern at Raleigh City Farm because she wanted to get more involved in Raleigh’s food justice initiatives and learn more about regenerative urban agriculture.
