Marsh Creek Park Volunteer FAQs

  • Dig in and help us grow our new location behind the Marsh Creek Park Community Center! This year we are focused on building soil and building community - preparing the space for vegetable production, planting pollinator habitats, and getting to know our new neighbors.

    Duties and Impact:

Volunteers assist with planting, mulching, weeding, harvesting and distributing the produce we grow. Your efforts keep the farm alive and thriving, making possible our mission to connect and nourish the community through regenerative agriculture. A healthy farm supports accessible distribution of fresh food, educational opportunities for all ages, and is important as a space to connect with each other as well as with the land.

  • All training, tools and materials will be provided.

Bring your own filled water bottle and begin hydrating the day before.

    Other notes:

Protective Shoes – Due to the potential for foot injuries while using farm tools it is important to wear proper footwear. Sandals or open toed shoes are not permitted while actively working on the farm or taking part in a tour.

Sun / Rain Protection – Hats and sunscreen are always a good idea (even on cloudy days).

Gardening / Work Gloves – We have gardening/work gloves in various sizes available, but feel free to bring your own.

  • Ages 5+, only ages 12+ may use hand tools. Those under 15 must have a parent/guardian present. Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature.

  • In the event of inclement weather (i.e. severe thunderstorms, heat advisory), we will cancel/reschedule.

We will make every effort to communicate cancellation of workdays ASAP.
