A New Season of Stewardship at RCF
We want to share some exciting news about a “New Season of Stewardship” at Raleigh City Farm, which will increase the impact of our mission: To grow the next generation of farmers by connecting our community to sustainable agriculture. In addition to our current programming, we’re announcing FIVE new initiatives:
1) We’re hiring a Farm Manager, Josh Sattin, who will start on February 1, 2020. His farming expertise, passion for teaching, and marketing acumen are huge assets for Raleigh City Farm and he’s eager to connect and educate our community!
2) We’ll be growing more produce and flowers; this will require greater volunteer engagement. Sign up to receive invitations to dig in and help us transform the site into a more productive, sustainable urban farm.
3) We’ll be selling our produce at a weekly Farmstand on Wednesdays from 4-7 PM beginning in late April or early May; you can expect an abundant, reliable source of hyper local produce to purchase each week.
4) We’ll be sharing a portion of our produce with nonprofits in the community who are addressing food insecurity and access.
5) We’ll be redesigning our Cultivator Club to reward members with produce from our Farmstand; this new initiative will be rolling out in March, just in time for spring!
Additionally, Lisa Grele Barrie will be leading the nonprofit as the Executive Director. She is excited to continue to steward the Farm and all of the mutually beneficial partnerships we’ve established since our founding in 2011.
We’re excited about the future of Raleigh City Farm and how we can play an even larger role in making our community healthier and more sustainable!
