Help Upgrade the Farm’s Electrical System

WHAT:

Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement. Raleigh City Farm is fundraising to upgrade our electrical system. Earlier this year, you helped us build our new Farm Stage Pavilion! It has a larger stage for produce prep, CSA distribution, and educational events as well as more office space and more functional cold storage. We are full of gratitude for all of the donors who funded this project.

Now, Raleigh City Farm needs to protect this community investment with an electrical upgrade. Mark your calendar and help us reach our $3,000 goal to emPOWER the farm.

HOW:

Facebook has a matching campaign on Giving Tuesday, so we’re focusing our fundraising efforts through that social platform. Click on the button below to donate via Facebook (or scroll down for other giving options).

WHEN:

Give to RCF’s Facebook fundraiser and/or share it starting at 8:00 a.m. EST on #GivingTuesday December 3rd when the matching begins!

WHY:

Your support on #GivingTuesday will help us:

  • Provide more reliable power for hydroponic greenhouse and hoop house, cold storage, lighting, fans, and office.

  • Light up the night for events like Harvest Dinner, Hot Nuts & Cider, and more.

  • Run conduit and receptacle boxes to serve all electrical needs of the farm in a sustainable and reliable way.

The estimated cost for this project is $5,500 for a licensed electrical contractor and all materials. The good news: our friends and supporters at Harvest Dinner raised the first $2,500. Now we are looking to fund the rest of the project, which will also include electrical upgrades to the hoop house and hydroponic greenhouse.

Important facts about Facebook Fundraisers:

  • No fees on donations

  • 100% of funds go directly to the Farm

We will continue to update you all on this initiative as we start hiring contractors, installing new systems, and emPOWERing the farm — follow along on Facebook or Instagram
