This Week at the Market: Yoga, Coffee, Microgreens, and Chef Kim Hunter

Welcome back! Here we are again:  a new month, a new vendor, and a new featured chef stopping by to showcase a unique way of using what the market has to offer.This Wednesday from 4-7 pm, Raleigh City Farmers’ Market is proud to announce that chef Kim Hunter, owner of Raleigh’s premier Korean restaurant, Kimbap, will be stirring up an exclusive and mouthwatering sample of her own.  Kim always knew she wanted to work with food for a living and her dream became reality when she opened Kimbap in 2013.  A proud supporter of local farmers, Hunter features produce and meats in her restaurant that are grown in North Carolina.  She takes pride in what she serves -- she knows who grew it, how it was grown, and where it came from.Also making their debut at the market:  new vendors Oak City Coffee Roasters and Sweet Peas Urban Gardens. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Raleigh City Farmers’ Market and hope that as a community we can all help support new local businesses and farms just as they support us.Yoga In The Square will be taking place again starting 5 pm. Thank you to all who participated last week.  We hope to see you again!  Raleigh City Farm interns will be donning their yoga gear and mats, and will be ready to find some inner peace this week!Tickets for this year’s Farm Aid are on sale now! Farm Aid is coming to Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC, on September 13!  This is an all-day music and food festival promoting community awareness of our nation’s farmers and their families. The concert lineup features Willie Nelson & Family, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Jack White, and more.We hope to see you at this week’s Raleigh City Farmers’ Market!
