Summer Sweetness: Pollinators, Pests and the Summer Garden - June 15, 2024
Summer Sweetness: Pollinators, Pests and the Summer Garden - June 15, 2024
Summer living is not easy on the farm! We are as busy as the bees during this season, everywhere you look is teeming with life and we’re enjoying the (literal) fruits of our labor. Come check out our summer garden and learn more about the pollinators that make this abundance possible as well as how we mitigate pest pressure for the variety of produce we grow. We’ll talk about our apiary, birdhouses, beneficial hedgerows, the importance of flowers, the lifecycle of pests and pest identification and management techniques.
We're also excited to offer our participants honey tastings during this workshop, since Dana Deaton (one of our beekeepers) will be joining us to talk about the honeybees!
Everyone will go home with knowledge, confidence, and a small bee hotel!
