High Country Firs is a local small business dedicated to providing sustainably harvested and transported Christmas Trees to the discerning customer. HCF is run by Keith Chesnutt who started selling Christmas trees to fund his education at NC State University where he recently graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
High Country Firs prides itself in selling high quality, dense, healthy Fraser Fir Christmas Trees (a.k.a. the Cadillac of Christmas trees), as well as wreaths, garland, and customized holiday home décor.
The trees are grown by their partner grower in the Appalachian mountains using low spray pesticide techniques (Integrated Pest Management) to minimize eutrophication and pollution. The trucks used to transport the trees from Boone to Raleigh are fueled by biodiesel purchased from the High Country Biofuels Cooperative, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of your tree. The High Country Firs’ staff hand selects and cuts down each tree on the lot, ensuring the trees are lush and fresh. The trees are harvested only days before delivery, guaranteeing a fresh tree for every customer.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Raleigh City Farm.
