From farm, to studio to gallery! Join Artspace for a multi-generational workshop in partnership with Raleigh City Farm Instructor: Julia Einstein
This is a two-part workshop that will meet two Saturdays in a row.
Saturday September 23 @ Raleigh City Farm
Saturday September 30 @ Artspace
Celebrate our city’s cultural community and join us for a two part workshop to explore how artists make art on-site at Raleigh City Farm, and in a studio setting at Artspace. You’ll delve into the creative process, from inspiration, idea sketches to your finished work of art.
Artspace is a non-profit visual arts center located in downtown Raleigh with a belief that art should be celebrated and valued as an essential part of our vibrant and healthy community.
Raleigh City Farm is a nonprofit urban farm in downtown Raleigh with a mission to connect and nourish the community through regenerative agriculture, enhanced education and engagement. A recipient of the Raleigh Environmental Stewardship Award, the farm yearly harvests over 10,000 lbs of produce and shares 50% with our nonprofit partners through their Farmshare program.
This is a multi generational workshop —for all ages. Come with a friend or family! Attendees under the age of 16 must sign up with a parent/guardian.
Saturday September 23: Raleigh City Farm @ 800 N. Blount St.
See the farm through the eyes of an artist, a bounty of color and beauty, and discover the art in this ecosystem. You’ll be guided to observe, make drawings outside where the plants grow, and prepare a printing plate. A special part of this workshop will be creating a folio of hand rubbed prints made from the artist’s hand carved woodblocks at the farm!
Parking: Please use unrestricted on-street parking and not the adjacent lot, as it is reserved for our retail neighbors in the Person Street Plaza.
Saturday, September 30th: Artspace @ 201 E. Davie St.
Make art alongside artist’s studio and be inspired by the creativity found inside Artspace.. Your drawings will be transformed by the art of printmaking. You’ll create a series of prints as you fall in love with colored inks and handmade papers. A unique opportunity of this workshop will be a Pop Up exhibition of your work to be on display at Artspace through First Friday in October!
Parking: On-street parking is enforced until 6pm and you can find nearby parking lots using this Downtown Raleigh Parking Map.
