Pollinator Week 2020, Sponsored by Logan’s Garden Shop
Did you know that 75% of plants rely on pollinators to reproduce?
Pollinators are crucial for the survival of many plant species (just watch The Bee Movie)! That’s why the month of June and, more specifically, the week of June 22-28 is devoted to educating the public about pollinators and celebrating them. In honor of Pollinator Week, we have some fun things planned at the Farm to connect and educate our community.
The Farmstand on Wednesday, June 24 will bee extra special. Resident beekeeper Nic Eason, and Helen Yoest from Bee Better Naturally will be on site to answer all of your buzzing pollinator questions. We’re also partnering with Logan’s Garden Shop—they’ll be distributing coupons, helpful handouts, Plant a Row sample starter kits, and selling a selection of perennials and herbs. Be sure to visit their store at Seaboard Station featuring an extensive selection of home and gardening products and supplies with a helpful and knowledgeable team.
Renowned local artist Beth Barger will also be joining us for our expanded Farmstand. She will be painting en plein air (a French phrase, meaning “in the open air”) and offering some of her artwork for sale. Beth has been a great supporter of Raleigh City Farm, and we are grateful for her continued support.
